Ooh La La And A Bit Of WaffleFriday, December 17, 2010
Sorry I haven't blogged in a while ( I bet you're reading this, thinking "jeez no one cares whether you've blogged or not Corrie" but I will tell you why never the less.)
I'm back home for Christmas. I'm back home earlier than I'd originally anticipated to be honest as I go to uni and rent a flat with my boyfriend down south which is three hours away from "home" so it's a fair trek.
Anyways my Mum asked me if I would model in a photo shoot for the county magazine, my Mum is a manager of a bridal and evening wear shop and I've modelled for them in the past but this time the magazine actually requested me ( I know couldn't they find someone better than an orange midget.. but wait it gets better) because they were doing a royal wedding feature and thought (right wait for it) I looked like Kate Middleton.
I know, crazy right? I'm more of a Cher Lloyd than Kate Middleton. We have brown, long hair. That is where the similarities end.
Anyhow, I thought it would be a good opportunity and as a secret poser thought it would be quite nice to parade about in wedding dresses all day.
My boyfriend however has had to stay down south to carry on working, he kindly never spoke to me about when he'd finish work for Christmas so that is why we're like 300 miles apart until Wednesday. It's weird. I don't like it, it's odd from going from being with him 24/7 to him not here. I also crazily miss my little flat, it's not the same as halls, I pay rent and bills and I really really miss it. It kind of makes me sad that I don't feel like home is here anymore. But I suppose this is what happens when you fly the nest, is that the right expression? And it's all part of growing up.
So the main reason for this post is a basic NOTD post but I wanted to waffle as I've not blogged in almost a week! :O I've not been online and I've been feeling a bit under the weather but tonight I decided it was time to do a post and I needed a good old waffle!
So basically I'm talking about the French Manicure. About three years ago this would be all I ever painted my nails as. Mind you it was more fashionable then and I was going through a very shallow phase and all I wanted in life was to be a WAG. I know shameful.
But over the years, I think the old frenchie has almost gone out of fashion. I hardly ever, ever wear it. I have so many colours to choose from and I find it a little boring.
But cause I'm a bit of a freak, I like to do my nails neutral for photo shoots cause it looks more professional and I already look like a child bride so the neutral nails seems more approiate than like bright pink or red.
I also never really wear my nails long, I'm lucky that my nails are quite nice really, they grow long, I've never had and probably never will wear false nails, they're strong and don't break but I don't like long nails cause I think they're witchy. I also look back on my WAG aspired days and think it doesn't look that fashionable.
But hey ho I painted the french manicure on Monday night as the photo shoot was Tuesday, I used Barry M's Marshmallow Pink and a French Manicure pen which I got for my birthday so not entirely sure where it's from...
But here they are...
I've noticed how much more nicer my fingers look with a french manicure, they look long and elegant. Sometimes I paint my nails in a colour and my fingers look like fat sausages.
I kind of realise why I used to be BFF's with French Manicure as my hands look quite nice. I remember when I used to paint my nails like this for school my best friend said she loved my hands so much she wanted to cut them off and put them on her arms. A bit disturbing really, we're still friends and thankfully my hands are still attached to my body.
Well I'm awfully sorry for the long waffle, I'd be amazed if anyone has actually read till this point!
I promise to blog some more :)
