No.17 BB Cream review...

Wednesday, November 09, 2011

Hey Lovelies!

I've finally been getting round to using the products that I got in my Cosmo Blog award goody bag. This product by 17 was one of the products that I was most looking forward to trying as I've heard so many good things about various blemish balms and I was hoping it could work wonders for my skin too.

The 17 BB cream has recently been introduced into Boots 17 counters and I'm pretty sure it has an introductory price so a little heads up there for you bargain hunters! I received the shade 'Medium' in the goody bag which is actually a little too light for my skin tone but remember I am a tanorexix!

So what does the 17 BB cream do? The packaging says: " 17 blemish balm is your 'no make up, make up' - a cult wonder project that gives your skin a complete natural, flawless finish."  With having oily/combination skin, I am always a little wary about trying new products as I'm always worried I will end up with horrible oily skin or break out with spots. So I was initially worried about trying this product out but I needn't of worried. As I think this product has been made with oily skin in mind, I wore this all day last Sunday and deliberately didn't wear any powder just to see how long lasting it was and how shiny it made me.
The shade medium swatched...

By the end of the day, my skin looked normal, not too oily at all so that was impressive. However the coverage is not full unlike what the box boasts. This I would say is light/medium coverage, at the moment I definitely have some imperfections which this didn't cover up unfortunately. This is a product that I would definitely use on a good skin day! I agree with the term of this is 'no make up, make up' as I didn't feel that I looked like I was wearing make up, which isn't really a look I like unless I'm on holiday or it's a hot sunny day. When my boyfriend and I decided to nip to the retail park I did have a little panic as I thought 'omg I'm going out looking like I'm wearing no make up!' But I thought this is in the name of blog research so I braved it. I'm glad to report that 1. I didn't scare any small children 2. No one pointed and laughed and 3. I didn't bump into anyone I knew or famous. Does anyone else always try to look nice in case you see someone famous or is that just me who is a little weirdo?

Me modelling the 17 BB cream and looking very bare....eeek

To be honest right now being autumn and all and having some skin problems, I don't think I'll be reaching for this product in the morning but I may very well keep it for next spring/summer. If you like natural make up and have flawless skin then 1. I'm jealous and 2. this product is probably a lot more suited for you.

Have you tried any BB creams before? What did you think?

I hope you're all okay and have a lovely Wednesday evening, season finale of TOWIE tonight (sob) also who else is going to the Motel Rocks event tomorrow night? I managed to blag a last minute.com (hahaha oh Alexandra Burke this still makes me chuckle) invite! So let me know if you're going and I'll look out for you. I'll be the orange midget ;)

* I did receive this product for free as part of my cosmo blog award goody bag, this however has not made an impact on my review and as always my reviews are 100% honest and reliable.

  1. I felt the same about the Garnier BB cream I got a tester from a mag and didn’t think much of it. Seems very similar to a tinted moisturiser if you ask me.

  3. You look lovely! After buying the Garnier BB cream and being sorely disappointed I don't think I'll be trying out this one or any others anytime soon :( I wish I waited for this one to come out instead of shelling out £9 for the rubbish Garnier one lol xx

  8. I think this looks really nice on your skin and would definitely be a nice change to let your skin breathe on a good skin day. I'd totally be too scared to wear it on a normal, not so good skin day tho! zxxx

  11. I really wish I had good enough skin to wear a BB cream alone, but I know it wont cover my acne scars, so especially after reading this post, I won't be making a purchase. Thankyou for the lovely review! xxx

  12. I've never tried a UK bb cream because like said above I think they'd be more like tinted moisturizers. However, I use the MISSHA bb cream which i believe is Korean and its fantastic. Its got great coverage and has really improved my skin :)

  18. you know what i find funny is these arnt even BB creams they are just named that and are following the band wagon if you think BB creams used to be used as creams for burn victims! they helped heal the skin and had a super high SPF as well as coverage to get rid of the redness
