When I first started writing posts for this blog properly in October 2010 I never imagined the experiences that blogging would provide me with. I never anticipated that I would be able to go to amazing events, so whenever I do go to one, I always have to pinch myself and think 'is this real?' Last night was one of those moments, I'm going to hail last night as one of the best events I've ever attended. Yes high praise indeed. So what did I get up to? I'm about to tell you. I literally squealed when I was invited to a Benefit event, Benefit are such a iconic make up brand that many rave about. I own a few Benefit products which all I love, the Porefessional primer is slowly becoming one of my holy grail products. Benefit are very good with blogger events and even do regional ones which is fab for bloggers who don't live near London. Last night Michelle and I tootled off to Bournemouth which is a lot closer to home than London. Bournemouth is somewhere I visited a few years ago, and though it's on my door stop I've never been back. I will be going back though as Bournemouth is just gorgeous, it's so pretty and the beach looks amazing!
You may know that Bournemouth's Debenhams recently opened a Benefit Boutique which is so cute, it's the second one in the UK and is the place to go for an all stop beauty shop. Tanning, waxing and make up all in one place? Amazing. We met the lovely Lisa who is head make up and trend artist and also brow expert and Jasmine who is the digital manager at Benefit. We were shown some demo's of the new products from Benefit including Sun Beam which Benefit are hailing sunshine in a bottle! But more about that later ;) we also found out about Benefit's skin care range which smells divine, the revamp of the packaging of Porefessional and just how popular They're Real Mascara is. Being a lover of Benefit products, I loved hearing and seeing tips for the products. We were also told about Mascarathon which is a charity run, which is running from the 15th of June in Edinburgh and ending on the 29th June in London. Benefit are raising awareness and money for Refuge which is a national domestic violence charity for women and children. Not only is this a great cause, but also my favourite Caroline Flack is running too and is in the promo pictures! The whole concept is a great idea, I particularly loved the fact that there will be a mascara baton... sod the Olympic flame! If you're interested in finding more about Mascarathon you can here.
After a visit to Bournemouth's Benefit Boutique we then popped over to The Print Room where we had the most delightful afternoon tea. The Print Room was so cool, chandeliers and velvet benches awaited us and we ate a scrummy selection of sandwiches with no crusts, the most delicious scones with clotted cream and jam and cake. We all sat around and talked about the most girliest of things; weddings, blogging and make up. Whilst eating cake... what more could a beauty blogger want? Then it was time to embark on our journey home, feeling full to brim on sandwich's and scones. Big thank you to Benefit for the lovely event and the other blogging beauties for being great company. I have tried some of the Benefit products that we got in our goody bags today and I have to say.. they are amazing! More of that soon though!
I hope you've all had a lovely Thursday, I have been loving having a day to myself where I don't need to do uni work! Hurrah! I have recorded some Youtube videos, one which is uploading right now and may be a Made in Chelsea inspired video. Ooooh. I hope you all have a lovely evening :)
