Bringing Back The Smokey Eye: FOTDFriday, June 08, 2012
So this is actually the face of yesterday, well the photos are from yesterday but I thought that face of today but photos from yesterday didn't quite have the same ring as face of the day. I haven't posted a FOTD for bloomin ages as I usually wear my make up the same for a phase and then I change it up. I'd been going through a more natural make up phase lately thanks to the likes of Millie and Louise from Made in Chelsea, I really love the more natural look in the summer time as when it's warm you don't want to spend ages putting make up on and you definitely don't want to feel like you have loads of make up on. But alas the British weather is back to it's best and the past couple of days have felt more like October rather than June! This is confirmed by the fact that it's June and I'm sitting here writing this post in a big cardigan and my fleecy pyjama bottoms!! Shall I post an OOTD? Jokes I won't but seriously just two weeks ago I was lounging around in my bikini! This miserable weather has meant that I've wanted to try something a little different with my make up and I've gone back to my ways of a smokey eye.
It's not just the weather that inspired my smokey eyes, I was watching 90210 (does anyone else watch this? Cause there's never much mention of it on Twitter etc) and Annie always has the most amazing brown smokey eye make up so feeling inspired I decided to try and create a similar look using my beloved Naked palette. I have to say I'm back in love with the brown smokey eye and for the first time in ages my make up feels like me! I also think the look I've been sporting is also quite Cheryl like which you all know is a bonus as she is my favourite. I suppose I'm always going to be a smokey eye girl at heart but I'm sure once the warmer weather returns I'll be back to my more natural ways. I also received my My Face Cosmetics My Mix Foundation in medium 2 yesterday and it's a much better shade for me! In case you didn't see on twitter if you want to try this foundation out that I love you can get it on their website (link) with 25% off and if you sign up for a account/newsletter you get £5 off your order! This means that you get the foundation for £10 something with postage! Bargain!
