Drugstore Gems...

Tuesday, March 19, 2013

Right, I'm going to assume cause you're reading my blog, you probably read other blogs too? Yes, okay, well if you're anything like me, reading blogs is very very bad for your bank account. If one of my favourite bloggers raves about a product, I want it too. I'm a bit like Shaun the sheep but less fluffy. I don't smell bad as I imagine sheep to do either. Thanks Marc Jacobs for your beaut perfumes. Ha disclaimer there, Marc Jacobs has not sent me any perfumes.. can you imagine though? That would be very cool. Okay I'm digressing, basically I'm always coveting more expensive beauty products, once the names Terry and Kevin were ones of those you'd expect in Emmerdale, but now my Space NK wish list includes By Terry and Kevin Aucoin products. Before I bankrupt myself, it's time to have a root through my collection. I've found some pretty good drugstore products, that for now are keeping my finger away from clicking Pay Now on Space Nk....

Rimmel Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch* Shimmering Sand: This little highlighter is a new addition of mine and it's a peachy colour that is very similar to some of the Nars illuminators you see. I've been adding a little of this under my foundation with my primer to warm my skin up and then a teeny bit on my cheekbones. A little goes a long way trust me but it gives a nice glow, for the summer I think this will look lovely paired with a tan and sunglasses.

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation: Okay you've heard about this one, I'm sure of it. I picked this up a few weeks ago and I'm still not a 100% on it but I think it is a good little drugstore foundation. It's light/medium coverage and gives you a nice dewy finish. Beware oily skinned girls, you'll need a powder at hand but it's a good foundation for the price. It's not overtaken my beloved YSL foundation, but for under a tenner you can't really go wrong.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser Primer: I've spoke about this before and I'll probably speak about it again. This primer is a must use in my case, without it I'm a shiny mess. It helps to cover up pores and blemishes and helps to keep your skin looking shine free throughout the day. Best primer I've ever used. Yes that's right I just said that.

Bourjois Clubbing Mascara Waterproof: I picked this mascara up on a whim in Boots a couple of months ago, but boy it's good! It has a nice thick brush and does what it says on the tin. Doesn't smudge, makes your lashes look long and thick and yes I like it.

Barry M Gelly Polish: Current favourite nail polishes.. I need more. Super cheap. super shiny and last a good three/four days without chipping. Well done Barry, you're back in my heart.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Stick Bulletproof Beige*: the beauty world has gone a bit stick crazy lately, but Rimmels offering is a good un. This champagne gold colour is great for a base for your eyeshadow and blends like a dream. I need the brown/bronzey one next I think ;)

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer: This is a great concealer for under eye bags, it has a peachy undertone so counteracts those dark circles. I can stay up till god knows when watching youtube videos and no one will ever know in the morning ;)

So there we have it, some good old drugstore products that I've been enjoying lately. They all are under £10 so you can save yourself some dosh right there! I'm pretty sure my bank balance is sighing in relief.. well for the time being ;)
