A Sunday Morning in Greenwich..Sunday, June 09, 2013
I have a bit of a love/hate affair with London. Some days I flirt with the idea of maybe moving there one day, and other times I'll be a grumpy little person on the tube peeved at how a grown man will of pushed me out of the way to grab a seat, and dying to get back home. As I mentioned in a previous blog post, my boyfriend and I went to London a few weekends back before the madness of moving house loomed. We went to a family party on the Saturday and then on the Sunday morning we had a little wander round Greenwich. Being the London noob I am.. ( did I ever tell you about the time I confused West Hampstead with West Ham.. thinking West Ham was it's nickname) I thought that Greenwich was the home of the 02 arena and that was about it. Erm well I was wrong.
My boyfriend knows London quite well, due to a lot of his family living there so luckily he knew where we were going. We had a walk round a park and then went up a really steep hill to be greeted with a breathtaking view of London. I could see the Gherkin and everything. We had a walk round the park in the sun and I stopped for a few poses outside the Queen's House. We had a walk round the buildings at the National Maritime Museum and stopped to look at the war ship which had pulled up in the Thames. Ha I'm really struggling with this post, I know literally nothing about Maritime, I remember there being a posh Nando's though and a big boat. Don't think The Londoner has anything to worry about anytime soon!
We also had a walk round the shops and even popped into the local market. I was very tempted by a cupcake stand I tell you. I had to be dragged away. After a lovely little walk round it was time to head home. Greenwich really is a very pretty part of London, it's not as hustely and bustely as other parts of London and I found myself thinking ' Hmm I could actually live here' however going home that night and looking on Rightmove my dreams were soon dashed. However Greenwich is a place I'll be visiting again, perfect place to wander round on a sunny Sunday morning. :) What's your favourite place in London?
