How to look awake and not like a zombie.Wednesday, June 04, 2014
First of all a shower does wonders for waking you up, I always get a cold flannel and dab it on my eyes, this helps to decrease puffiness, I also give my eyes a good going over with the flannel to get rid of any last make up remnants and sleep of course! Lovely! After a scrub a dub dub, and I'm dressed I head for my make up bag. I get really bloodshot eyes and when I'm tired they look awful. I literally couldn't live without my Eyedew Sparkling eye drops, I add a couple in each eye and I already look a darn sight better. Next I try to conceal those under eye circles, my current favourite concealer is the Benefit Fake Up Concealer as it's moisturising and not dry. I hate dry, cakey concealers, so this helps to keep my eyes looking healthy and awake. The lightest colour helps to counteract dark colours, and covers up those unsightly circles. I set with some powder and I'm away, I'm already a step towards looking human again.
Next I turn to eyeshadow, although I do find it tempting to wallop on a shitload of eyeshadow to create a smokey eye, I find it brings attention to my eye bags rather than divert attention. So I've been going for lighter shimmery eyes, this shadow stick from Rimmel, is lovely, the Scandaleyes in Bulletproof Beige adds a champagne gold to my eyes and brightens up the area. I find that the colour makes my eyes look more awake, obviously after lashings of mascara, I add the Scandaleyes liner in nude along my waterline. This just gets rid of any last redness along my eyes, it makes my eyes brighter, and bigger, and of course taking away that final Zombie feature. A bright lipstick always helps too! After this, and some breakfast I'm ready to go, well until the 3pm slump arrives and I have to stop myself from falling asleep at my desk. Shhhh I won't tell if you won't.
