A/W Drugstore HaulMonday, October 19, 2015
I love dark nail polishes even though they make my hands kook like sausages, I love wine lips, and glitter. All the glitter. This summer, my sister worked at Superdrug and was given a family discount card, which she very kindly gave to me. The card gives you 10-30% off beauty brands, and with her just leaving her position, I thought I'd best make the most of the discount before the card expired. So technically my haul was justified. Kinda.
Superdrug False Lashes: Something happened the other day, I ran out of false lashes. I know, I know, how terrible. But no seriously, I always like to have a couple of pairs in my collection in case I want to do a make up tutorial, or just feel like throwing some on to be all fancy and that. I've been trying a lot of different brands lately- shout out to the Eylure and Fleur De Force lashes which are pretty top notch, but thought Id try the Superdrug ones cause they were only £4 each and then I got 30% off, so y'know winner winner chicken dinner. I haven't actually used them yet so I can't report back, but I'm sure I will use them soon and can let you know then what I think. But for now, the price is winning me over.
Essie Wicked Nail Polish: I was after a wine coloured nail polish, because low and behold, I didn't own one. Essie's Wicked had always been on my Autumn nail wishlist for a couple of years now, and I just couldn't resist it any longer. Thoughts? It doesn't seem to suit my nails, but I will keep trying with it, also I found it chipped easier than some of my other Essie's which is weird. But I will keep going with it as it's really the perfect A/W nail colour.
Tanya Burr Cosmetics Nail Polish: Duvet Day: I'd been eyeing up this colour ever since Youtuber Tanya Burr revamped her make up line. Ah isn't it the dream to have your own make up line? I'm so jealous! Anyway, Duvet Day is a cool toned grey colour, it reminds me a bit of Essie's Cocktail Bling and I was intrigued to see how it performed and I won't lie, I like the packaging. It was very easy to apply and is a lovely colour, but two days in and I do have a few chips at the ends of my nails which is a little disappointing, but it's a lovely colour so I might try it with a different top coat and see.
Maybelline Divine Wine Lipstick: This is from a new line of lipsticks for Maybelline and I fell in love with this wine shade after seeing Kaushal use it in a Shay Mitchell inspired YT tutorial. I love both girls, so I was like right 'that's going in my basket.' It's a matte wine red colour, that takes a little patience to apply. However it's quite long lasting, doesn't dry out the lips and is a perfect autumnal lip colour. You know what, I might even be brave and wear it out of the house.
Maybelline Colour Sensational Lip Liner: Plum: I got this because I realised that id I'm going to be wearing a lot more darker lip colours, I should probably get a lip liner too. The amount of times that I have applied lip stick to end up looking like Miranda Sings is too many to count, so maybe a lip liner would help. I figured getting one from Maybelline may help as it may be a similar colour to the lipstick I'd just bought. I've not tried it yet but you know, a lip liner is a lip liner.
Gosh Prime n Set Primer: I've been meaning to do a whole blog post about this primer cause it deserves one. Gosh is actually a Superdrug brand, so I got 30% off with my discount. Seeing as this is my favourite primer ever, I thought I'd stock up. Basically if you have oily or combination skin this is amazing, it keeps you matte, I used it all through the summer in very hot weather, and it performed excellently. It's a must have in my collection and dare I say it... it's a holy grail product for me. I know, I know, roll out the red carpet.
There we have my little A/W Superdrug haul, I do love a good walk round the aisles of Boots and Superdrug, and let's be honest it probably won't be long before my next visit. What are you buying for your A/W make up collection?
