One of the best things about Christmas of course, is all the food you get to eat. The cupboards are laden with snacks, Pringles tubes are coming out of your ears and the poor fridge has never seen so much food before. Today, I wanted to show you one of our favourite things to cook over Christmas, and something that has become a new festive food tradition in our house.

It is this Camembert bread concoction. It’s cheese porn at it’s greatest and my god, if you love cheese, you will love this.

So it’s very easy to do, and I have my glamorous assistant Henry to help show you how to do this in today’s post, so without further a do let’s start.

You will Need:

A Camembert
A round loaf of bread
Two garlic cloves
Olive Oil

First of all, you need to measure your camembert against the bread so you can cut out a hole for it to fit inside. Put the camembert on top of the bread and carefully cut around with a knife. Then remove the bread and make sure the hole is deep enough to fit the camembert inside.

Then make some garlic oil or butter if you prefer, use a garlic press to crush two garlic cloves and mix in a bowl with some olive oil. Then pour this into the hole and spread evenly, this will add a little flavour to your cheesy bread. We also add some to the top of the bread lid too.

Then take your camembert and slice off the outside of the rind, then pop the camembert into the hole into the bread. Take your bread lid and pop it on the top, ready to put in the oven.

We then wrap the bread in foil and heat it at 170 degrees for about 20 minutes.

We tend to take it out and check it every ten minutes or so. We tend to give the cheese a stir before popping it back in again. We always worry the bread will go really hard if we put it the oven, without the foil, so once the cheese is almost all melted, for the last few minutes, we pop it back in the oven on it's own.

It kind of depends on how melty you like your cheese and how long you leave it, it’s quite a slow process so be wary! I think we usually take ours out after about 45 minutes (which seems the longest time ever!) But this is the perfect amount of melty-ness for us.

Once your bread is out of the oven, take off your bread lid and the camembert should have melted into the bread! Then you are ready to get dipping! We then tend to cut the bread round the outside, tear off and dip into the cheese.

You could toast bread from another loaf, or perhaps dip in carrots, cucumber or whatever your heart desires. It tastes amazing though, and is all oozy and melty.

This is one of our favourite festive meals, it’s totally naughty but oh so good. If you are a cheese fan, then you will love this and nothing will beat taking off that bread lid to see all the melted camembert inside (you will probably resemble the heart eyes emoji)

I ate so much the other day, that I gave myself a cheese hangover haha but it’s just too good to share with too many people!

You could also add condiments or whatever else you fancy, but it’s such an easy but impressive dish that will wow guests if you are having a dinner/christmas party, it’s also perfect for a dinner/lunch too!

So there we go, hope you liked this post and let me know if you’d like to see more cooking posts in the future. Also if you do cook this camembert bread concoction make sure you tweet me so I can see!

But enjoy… I’ve made myself crave another one after writing this post, I mean it is Christmas so calories don’t count right?
