Valentine's Gift Guide : The Gifts That Never Go WrongWednesday, February 08, 2017
With Valentine's Day being just around the corner, today I thought I'd post my Valentine's gift guide before it's too late to buy your loved one a gift. I do have this love/hate relationship with Valentine's day. Part of me thinks that you show your loved one that you love them every day, and there's always so much pressure to be doing something on that day, however, it's also a nice excuse to perhaps treat each other.
So I thought that I would compile a gift guide this year, mainly because I got excited about the prospect of a Valentine's gift guide flat lay!
So here are a selection of gifts that I know, I would love to receive on Valentine's Day, but to be honest, I'd be happy with a packet of Mini Eggs and/or some flowers!
So let's start with something that I feel never ever goes wrong, some nice nightwear; Victoria's Secret is of course the dream, but hey let's be honest, none of us are millionaires here. However I found these very cute pjs from Boohoo, which say Bride To Be on the pocket which I adore. I had to buy them as I thought they'd be perfect for the night before my wedding, and they are perfect for your fiance!
Next is underwear, again something that never ever goes wrong. I have a lovely selection from b.tempt'd which are perfect for a little Valentine's treat, or for you to buy to treat your valentine for Valentine's night (OI OI) ((I'm sorry I have the mind of a 12 year old.)) I love this pink bralette though, I am obsessed with bralettes cause 1. they're SO comfy and 2. they're so pretty! I also love this pink set too which is so delicate and of course perfect for Valentine's Day.
A bit of a cliche, but perfume is always a winner; YSL Black Opium, Sarah Jessica Parker's Lovely, and Jo Malone English Pear and Freesia fragrance are some of my current faves. Though I must say that Jo Malone will always get you whatever you want in life, if you give this to your other half.
Stationery is always a nice gift too, Ohh Deer have a wonderful selection of notepads if your number one is a keen list maker.
Jewellery too is usually also wonderful, I have some cute heart earrings from Claire's that actually look so expensive, and a delicate midi ring from Astrid & Miyu, delicate necklaces are also always a nice present to open.
Beauty wise; new lipstick is a pretty fail safe present, Charlotte Tilbury is always always a winner, I don't think anyone would ever be disappointed by a CT lipstick. Ciate also have some very cute lipsticks, this Pretty Stix lipstick couldn't look any more Valentine's if it tried! I also always love new nail polish, a new baby pink nail colour is always a present that I wouldn't be upset over. The new essie gel couture range Ballet Nudes is so nice, and also perfect for buying your galentine if she's got engaged over the Valentine's period.
Candles may seem like a really basic present, but answer me this, does any twenty something girl not like candles? Nope, didn't think so. Also who cannot be impressed by a Kate Spade candle? This polka dot candle is definitely what the heart eye emoji was invented for, it's from Amara Living and oh boy is it a wonderful gift.
Champagne/prosecco/wine is also a brilliant present that requires little effort but people will still love. I found Bottega wine in a airport back in December, and I fell in love. Hard. I have this Bottega Gold Prosecco which I am pretty sure I'll never drink cause it's too pretty (they also do a rose gold version which is just as dreamy) and I think that if any of us received this on Valentine's day, we'd be pretty happy! You can get Bottega from 31 Dover, who also have lush Valentine's themed drinks range on their website right now too.
Flowers are also always a good shout, maybe try artificial flowers cause then they'll last a little longer? I love these from Amara Living, which are really delicate and will suit any kind of decor/room.
So there is my Valentines' gift guide, chocolates are also always a good shout, those pink champagne truffles always look amazing, but honestly, it's not about presents when it comes to Valentine's Day, it's more about the thought, however a little present never goes a miss!
What gift would you like to receive on Valentine's Day?
