Hope you’re all having a lovely Sunday so far, I’m not very impressed as the sun has gone behind the clouds so I’ve had to retreat from my sunbathing.
Now as it’s summer, I have been loving the dewy and glowy make up look. My make up idols this summer have been Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl for her peachy cheeks and barely there eyeshadow and Millie Mackintosh from Made in Chelsea for her bronzed dewy look that she always rocks so well.
I decided that I wanted a piece of this dewy action and decided to order some MAC strobe cream.
So what is MAC’s Strobe Cream?
Mac describe their Strobe Cream as ‘ The ultimate quick fix for the skin. Super-powered with potent botanticals; de snoozes, de- stresses , moistens, freshens and boosts the look of dull, flat or tired looking skin with a fully loaded vitamin zap and a mega dose of green tea. Brightens and clarifies with iridescent particles and antioxidants. Enchances the effects of light on all skin and in all lighting conditions from sunlight to spotlight.’
Now let’s be honest, it sounds like a miracle cream doesn’t it? I decided to get this after reading about it on my college friend Sam’s new beauty blog ( go read it, it’s great) and she’d said how she mixed it with Estee Lauder’s Double wear to achieve a dewy, less heavy look.
This is what I’ve been doing since my strobe cream arrived and I have noticed a dewyness to my skin that I wouldn’t of got without the strobe cream. I feel that it does make Double wear a lot less heavy which is better for these summer days. I’m still getting to grips with the strobe cream but so far so good. I think it will look amazing on holiday with a natural tan so I am very excited to play around with it in
Crete next week. (1 WEEK TO GO!)
A little goes a long way with Strobe Cream- Also look at the lack of shimmer.
I was worried that when it would arrive, that strobe cream would be full of shimmer but it isn’t. It’s what can be described as pearly and adds a pearly sheen to your face which is alot better than glitter. No one wants to look like Edward Cullen.
me with strobe cream on, notice the dewyness? Lol- also I apologise for the top, I was off to work.
Strobe cream is quite pricey however- I bought the travel version which for 30ml is £12.00, the full size version of 50ml is £21.00. I’m really getting into skincare at the moment as yes make up is amazing but the conditions of your skin makes make up look better or worse. I’m definitely feeling some Liz Earle products and/or Estee Lauder night repair serum- I’m gonna try get a sample this week!
Over all if you want to achieve the dewy look then I would recommend Strobe Cream, I will be letting you know how I get on with it as the weeks go on.
I hope you all have a lovely Sunday 🙂
