Hope you’re all okay and having a good Tuesday so far. I started back at university yesterday to embark on my final year and to be honest I cannot wait to be all finished. I know some people say that university is the best time of your life etc but I can’t wait to start working as I have a idea what I want to do and my university course slightly bores me. It’s not very nice when you’re two years through your course and you suddenly realise that you’re studying a subject you no longer enjoy. Ah well I don’t have long left now though!
A couple of weeks ago I wrote about Liz Earle’s cleanse and polish, pleased with the results and the product itself I decided to order some more products to try out after going through a dodgy skin phase. I decided to try the Young Skin try me kit. This kit is more suited for teenage skin and although being twenty I still have teenage skin and thought that buying a try me kit would let me see what agreed with my skin and so fourth.
I also bought a sample bottle of the Skin Brightening mask- Review to follow soon.
So what’s inside the young me kit? You get a cleanse and polish (30ml) Skin Repair moisturiser (15ml) Instant skin booster tonic (30ml) Spot on (6ml) and 1 pure muslin cloth. A sample of the Instant skin boost tonic was also included in my package too!
Now I started using these products morning and night to hopefully achieve a clear complexion. I would cleanse my skin with the cleanse and polish. Then putting some of the skin tonic on cotton wool and then applying the skin repair moisturiser for oily/combination skin and finally popping on the spot on oil onto any blemsihes that I had.
As always the products are lovely and all smell gorgeous. However my skin is very temperamental and I don’t think it could stand with a morning and night ritual and I subsequently broke out with a few spots. I decided to just limit my routine to the evening as that way I would be removing all traces of the days make up and letting my skin breathe in the morning. So far so good, my skin seems to of cleared up again ( I think that little bit of sun helped too) and it always feels lovely, clean and fresh when I get into bed at night.
I was all ready to buy the full sized versions of the tonic and moisturiser when the lovely Liz Earle PR team emailed me to say as a thank you for my cleanse and polish post would I like the next two steps to try. I was very grateful when they popped a full size tonic and moisturiser through my letterbox so now I am going to use my try me kit for over night trips and holidays as it’s the perfect size for travelling.
My favourites from the kit are the tonic- both the bottle version and the spritzer. The spritzer reminds me of my favourite Body Shop Vitamin E face mist as it’s refreshing and can be used to set your make up! The tonic is lovely and makes your skin tingle with freshness. I also love the moisturiser as it’s designed for oily/combination skin (there are other skin types available too) so it doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy or shiny. I however have not been too impressed with the Spot on oil. I always find that sometimes these things work and sometimes they don’t. I feel like that this didn’t do too much for my spots but just because it didn’t work for me doesn’t mean that it might not work for you.
I do love Liz Earle products and I do think that they will be a fixture to my skin care routine and my bathroom cabinet. Do you like Liz Earle products? If so what’s your favourite product?
Hope you all have a lovely day & evening, tonight my boyfriend and I are going for dinner at TGI Fridays, we love eating there and we said that we haven’t done anything special to commemorate our two year anniversary which was in August so we’re going to have a meal out! 🙂
N.B I bought the Young me skin care kit with my own money and can be purchased from the Liz Earle website for £24.75. I was sent the full size instant boost tonic and the skin repair moisturiser by the Liz Earle PR team. Although sent to me for review purposes my opinion remains 100% honest.
