Another imaginative post title from me there! Ha! Now if you read my post earlier on in the week about my trip to FrontCover Cosmetics new kit launch, you will know that we were very kindly given a kit of our choice to take home with us. I chose the Moondust kit, which FrontCover describe as..
‘A collection of loose pigments and glitters in pots to create twinkly sumptuous looks.’
The Moondust kit in all it’s glory..
So what does the Moondust kit contain? It contains six pots of ‘irdiscent pigments’ in 6 shades; Coal Hoal- a carbon black with a slight sprinkling of glitter, Coinage- a delicious copper, Burnt Carrot- a rich luxurious gold, Moondance-a mystic indigo blue, Lime Lime- a vibrant lime green and Saddle Brown- a chocolatey shimmery brown. There are also two pots of glitter- Doubloon- a gold glitter and Periwinkle- a indigo glitter. The kit also contains a shadowbase eye primer which is essentially a highlight stick, creamy and shimmery, it provides the perfect base for the pigments and glitters. There is also a small applicator brush.
Top: Shadowbase primer
L-R Doubloon glitter, Burnt Orange, Saddle Brown, Coinage, Coal Hoal, Moondance, Lime Lime and Periwinkle glitter.
Now I don’t have anything like this kit in my make up collection, I’ve always like the look of pigments but always thought they’d be messy and just quite frankly haven’t got round to trying some. I am so glad that I chose the Moondust kit though as the pigments are so pigmented and blend and glide onto your eyelids so beautifully. They last all day and really create a different look to just normal eyeshadows.
I think that most of the colours are wearable, I am quite a neutral girl so the Lime Lime colour will probably get used the least and I haven’t tried the glitters yet as I feel they would be more for a ‘going out’ look. Yesterday I created a soft smokey eye using the Moondust kit…
Shadowbase primer all over the lid up to the brow bone
Burnt Carrot all over the lid
Saddle Brown popped over the top and blended in to create a smokey brown/gold look, I also swept this to the outer corner of the eye
Coal Hoal added to the crease of the eye to add smokiness and definition
Finally saddle brown applied to the lower lash line.
The finished look..
I was really pleased with the look and will be reaching for this kit most days! The Moondust kit is £16.00 from Boots in store and online.
Do you like the look of the Moondust kit?
I hope you all have a lovely evening, I am going to make the most of my Sunday night (back to uni tomorrow sob!) with Fajitas, Xfactor and TOWIE. Happiness is 🙂
