I used to be a nude lipstick girl through and through. No matter the season, a nice nude lipstick would adorn my lips. However fast forward a few months, I’m getting a bit more adventurous with my lipstick choices. This Autumn/Winter I have been getting into slightly darker lipsticks! Ooh la, la. Of course most days I do still stick to my trusty Shy Girl from Mac, mainly because I can apply it whilst running up a escalator at work and know it won’t look dodge. These dark lipsticks, take time and Patience in the mirror. One time I hastily applied one and looked like I’d had too much ribena. So without further ado, shall we what made my top three? Oh and the best news, they’re all under a tenner. Ding Dong.
Revlon Lip Butter in Raspberry Pie*: I didn’t get off to a good start with the lip butters, I bought a nude shade and found it to look a bit like something your Nan would wear. However I was recently sent some more Autumnal Lip butters and the one which really wowed me was Raspberry Pie. It’s a gorgeous dark cherry pink which is just so flattering. It has a slight sheen to it meaning it’s moisturising and really easy to apply. This may even be one that I could apply on the go at work and not look like someone has bit my mouth. It also smells super fruity and is really pigmented. I’m sorry Revlon Lip Butters, maybe I judged you too quickly. Whilst on the topic of Lip Butters, until the 4th December the Revlon Sweet Boutique is back on Facebook. You can win one of 100 lip butters every day on their Facebook page, so get Liking! Kate Moss for Rimmel 107 Lipstick: Kate Moss has a new line of lipsticks for Rimmel and the one which stood out for me the most was the 107 lipstick. A gorgeous deep red wine colour, it’s so winter! I love it teamed with a smokey glittery brown eye, but beware this lipstick takes several minutes to apply. A brush and lip liner is needed, being the cack handed person I am, I haven’t mastered the application yet but I’m sure I will one day. It lasts for ages too!
L’oreal Colour Richie Plum Passion: Okay so we all fell in love with Cheryl’s plum lips when she was on Xfactor with Gary Barlow. This is a really gorgeous colour and can be used as a full on plum lip or blotted on for a raspberry tint. It’s a gorgeous deep plum shade that I do love, again it’s a tricky one to apply but lasts a long time once it’s on! Also it’s something Cheryl wears and if it’s good enough for Cheryl, it’s good enough for me.
So there we go, my current favourite winter lipsticks. Not a nude shade in sight, shock horror! I hope you’ve all had a good weekend! I’ve had the weekend off which is a rarity considering I work in retail and it’s December so it’s safe to say I have been making the most of my time off! I hope you’ve all had a lovely chilled weekend too 🙂
