Today I had a small glimmer of hope that Spring was on it’s way. My coat has been swapped for a jacket and I swear bare legs weather is just around the corner. And it’s about blimming time, I was getting bored of this Siberian esque weather we’ve been having lately. Snowing in April.. no no no. A few weeks ago I was sent a gorgeous floral Lipsy playsuit , but it’s only been within the past few days that I’ve even thought about wearing it. A floral playsuit, torrential rain and icy winds do not go hand in hand together. I do love a good playsuit though which I’m sure many of you know already. I love my shorts and I think come Spring/Summer time they are fab for just throwing on effortlessly. I love playsuits even though they make going to the loo, quite the challenge.
I do love a bit of Lipsy, in fact I have done since I was the age of 17. I used to spend my lunchtimes at college in Bank browsing the Lipsy rail. I would mentally make a wish list of dresses to buy once I turned 18 and could actually go out. Yes that’s right once upon a time I used to be a party animal 😉 I even had a Lipsy dress for my 18th Birthday party which my poor Mum had to buy off ebay cause it was so popular. It was a similar style to a dress Cheryl wore on the Xfactor and when I wore it, I felt like Shropshire’s Cheryl Cole but with really bad blusher. Ha ha. I do love this playsuit though, the ruffles are really feminine and great if you’re not gifted in the booby department, like I’m not. Sob. Right now, I’m pairing it with tights, ballet pumps/ankle boots and my leather jacket but down below I have thought of some other ways you could wear it 🙂
The Night Out Look:
Dorothy Perkins Necklace
MAC Cosmetics lipstick,
Like I mentioned once upon a time I liked to go out.. who knew eh? If you act your age and not 81 like I do, this outfit above may be perfect for you. Though to be fair this could also be great for going for a meal out, casual drinks, etc. I’ve picked a blazer to go over the playsuit to smarten it up, I may throw a blazer over it for work you know. I’ve then added my trusty studded Zara boots and a Aldo black clutch bag. I’ve also added the three trusty outfit finishers; chunky statement necklace, Xen Tan Moroccan Tan and some Mac lipstick. A girls three best friends right there.
The Summer Day Look
Red Herring Wedges
Call it SPRING t-bar shoes
Ray-Ban ray ban eyewear, £94
River Island hat, £17
Hopefully when summer finally arrives, it will be warm and sunny. I love the summer, walks in the park, drinks in beer gardens and lazing on the beach are perfect summer pastimes. This outfit above is my summer days look, we’re talking let’s throw every summer fashion cliche together. The playsuit has little spaghetti straps so you haven’t got to worry about crazy tan lines, note the suncream there kids. I’ve thrown in some beaut tan wedges from Red Herring at Debenhams for a more dressy look and some Call It Spring sandals for a more chilled daytime look. To protect your head from the sun.. I’ve thrown in a straw trilby. Now I’ve overcome my fear of hats, I may even buy one this year. Oooh la la, no burnt scalp for me. Finally some Ray Bans ( oh I wish I had some of these babies) and a ice cream, because well everyone loves a ice cream in the summer.
Writing this post has made me yearn for summer, let’s hope the warmer weather is on it’s way. We can only hope eh! I hope you liked this post and go check Lipsy out, they’ve got some right gorgeous pieces on their website at the moment! I hope you’re all good, apologies for the sporadic blog posts. Work has been crazy busy and my hours have been upped to full time, so I’m juggling blogging, work, and well life all together. I’m pretty sure I’ll get my act together soon though and you’ll be fed up of me 😉 Hope you all had a great start to the week and I’ll see you soon 🙂
