Rocking Out with Benefit

The Benefit boxed powders are a bit of a cult hit with beauty bloggers. From their quirky packaging to pigmented colours, many of us have one lurking in our make up collection’s. I always get excited when a new box gets released and the newest version is a right beauty. Rockateur* is the newest launch and will be dropping into counters from the 2nd of September, but is available online. Despite the name, the Rockateur blush is a delicate girly shade with a subtle glow. I’d say it’s like a rose gold colour, it’s a warm toned pink with aspects of peach in there and a gold shimmer running through it. It does look a bit shimmery in the box but when it’s applied, it’s very subtle and gives you a lovely glow on the apples of your cheek.

Benefit’s Rockateur Blush*

It comes in a box (obviously) with a mirror and fluffy brush, however this blush does only have 5g of products compared with Benefit’s other offerings having 7/8g which is a little odd, but there we go. I imagine that it would take a fair while to work your way through this blush though. It’s slightly scented and can be built up. I’d say it’s probably best suited for paler complexions, but can also work on tanned complexions. I find on my skin tone, it’s quite subtle and needs to be built up a little, but sometimes it’s nice to have a blush that’s not too in your face.

Me wearing Rockateur..

All in all, I do like this little blush, if you like the idea of a glowy cheek then this is for you. It’s one of Benefit’s more subtle blushers, but it’s very pretty. I tend to apply it with a stippling brush to make it last longer and then blend it in with my Real Techniques blush brush. I’ve been using it throughout August and I’m sure I’ll continue to use it throughout Autumn too! It’s actually nice to have a change from peach blushers… I know, who’d of thought I’d ever say it? What’s your favourite Benefit blush?
