Guest Post: Spring Beauty by Kathleen Pavey

Hello everyone, today I’m writing a guest post for the lovely Corrie as she’s off on her travels to America, which I am (and am sure you) are pretty jealous about!

Even though the weather is already a lot warmer and more sunny over in The States, spring is finally starting it show it’s face here in the UK too. I thought I’d share with you some of my favourite spring beauty products, which are perfect for if you’re going on holiday or like me, making the most of the sunshine over here.

With my makeup I like to keep everything looking quite natural and fresh. Just before putting it on, I’ve been using the St Tropez gradual tan everyday moisturiser for the face in the shade light to medium (longest name ever?!). When I bought this, I was a bit worried it might be too heavy for my skin and possibly break me out but it’s actually a really lovely light weight moisturiser, which sinks in really quickly. When first applied, it doesn’t leave any noticeable colour or finish on the skin however after putting on the rest of my makeup I can definitely notice a difference. It gives off the ‘glowing from within’ look, which I love.

For the spring time I like to use a foundation which is has got a nice amount of coverage and gives a dewy finish, the Bourjois Happy Light foundation fits the brief perfectly. It’s a really lovely everyday foundation, that gives a light to medium coverage. It also blends in to the skin really well, I like to apply it using the Real Techniques Buffing Brush. For a more natural look, I prefer to use cream products instead of powder. I’ve been loving the Topshop creamy blush in the shade Head Over Heels. This is the first piece of makeup I’ve tried from the Topshop collection, it’s such good quality especially for the price – the Glow cream highlighter is next on my list.

Lipgloss always reminds me of when I was younger and they used to be really gloopy and glittery not to mention the whole hair sticking to the lips situ. However since trying out some of the lip glosses from the new Tanya Burr collection, I’ve been converted. My favourite shade at the moment is Afternoon Tea, a gorgeous pinky colour. Not only are they lovely to apply but they smell aaamazing, like strawberry sweets! Before applying it, I use a little bit of the Lush Bubblegum lip scrub on my finger, buff it in, then remove with a damp flannel.

Now for the finishing touches: this month I’ve really been in to pastel nail varnishes, one of my favourites is this pale lilac colour in the shade Nouvelle Vauge from Loreal. I think this was from a small pastel range, they recently bought out so I’ll definitely be picking up a few more of those. I don’t know about you but I’m feeling 22 I never feel fully dressed without spritzing a bit of perfume. Daisy from Marc Jacobs is definitely the best spring perfume it literally smells like spring, it has a really light, fresh scent and also the packaging is adorable!

I hope you’ve enjoyed reading about some of my favourite spring beauty products, I’d love to know what yours are!
