Wearing both the Filmstar Bronze & Glow, and Pillow Talk lipliner.
To be honest, I feel mostly at home within the aisles of Boots and Superdrug, rather than the high end make up counters. I could quite happily spend hours swatching to my hearts content, and coming out with a big bag full of new and exciting products for just £20. However, sometimes I do yearn for more luxury items and well I decided to treat myself after Christmas as a ‘you go glen coco’ for cooking Christmas dinner and no one dying in the process/afterwards.
Selfridges had 10% off all their beauty range in their festive sale, and although 10% off items may not seem much, for more luxury brands such as Charlotte Tilbiry, it’s very rare to see any type of discount on products. This was my reasoning for purchasing the Filmstar Bronze and Glow and the Lip Cheat lip liner from the CT range. I have been lusting over these products for probably over a year, and many a time, I have put them in my online shopping basket to remove them again. I guess, I decided to finally bite the bullet.
I have been using these products for a couple of weeks, so this isn’t a proper in depth review, but what I will say on first impressions is, OMG. These products have totally lived up to their hype, and are unlike anything else I own. The Filmstar Bronze & Glow is pricey, in fact, I try to not think about the price. But I have always wanted to master contouring (blame my Kardashian obsession) and I feel I may actually be able to achieve this with this product. It creates instant cheekbones and slims out your nose, the highlighter part is creamy, and just gives you a champagne glow. That whole lit within look. Basically if you want to recreate the whole Kardashian/Jenner look, this is what you will need. I will keep practising with it and will let you know in due course if it is worth the splurge but so far, I am not regretting my little spree at all.
The Lip Cheat lip liner in Pillow Talk is probably one of the most talked about lip liners in the beauty world, well after MAC’s Soar & Whirl of course. This is a gorgeous nude, baby pink, yes very similar in colour to Rimmel’s East End Snob, but the pencil makes it incredibly easy to fill out your lips. I tend to very slightly over line my lips, to make them appear fuller, and there’s something about this lip liner that just works and even if you over line aka KJ style, it still looks natural. It’s safe to say, I am in love, and will be armed with it at all times.
So far, I am definitely not regretting my sale spree, although this will have to be my last luxury beauty haul for a while as 2015 is the year of saving for a house with a kitchen that fits more than one person in at a time…Hoorah. But I have a feeling these products will last me for a long time. So did you buy anything naughty in the sales, by that I mean spendy/expensive treats, not stuff from the likes of Ann Summers, I don’t think we should be sharing that on here 😉 haha!
