Yes all of the above is me. I have always been really fashionable as you can tell.
I do sometimes wish for a simpler time. You know to go back to the early 00’s when I was 9/10 and didn’t really have too much of a care in the world. Mainly my thoughts revolved around would I ever marry Noel from Hear’say/Gareth Gates or Jon from Sclub7- see little old me didn’t even realise that Jon was gay. Pfft, well there’s that marriage out the window. Anyways, I was thinking about being younger, and all the beauty stuff I was obsessed with back then. I guess that I’ve always been interested in beauty products, but however, the ones I used to love wearing to the school disco are definitely different to the ones that make me go all heart eye emoji now. So for my fellow 90/00s babes- lets reminisce together.
Glitter just glitter – for your lashes, your body and your hair. GLITTER EVERYWHERE.
Glitter hairspray- to give you a more overall glittery effect. Why were we all so obsessed with glitter?
Blue mascara- top and bottom lashes cause it made you look like a space person from an Aqua video or something.
Stick On tattoos- usually ones that said GIRL POWER or PEACE, that you wore on the classiest of places; tops of your arms or your tummy.
Hair Braids- nothing said ‘I’ve just come back off my holidays’ like a sassy hair braid.
Frosted lipsticks- you thought they looked cool. You really looked like you had frost bite on your lips.
Sabrina Secrets nail art pen- oooh look at this free nail art pen, so amaze. Goes to recreate the nail tutorials, ends up with big splodges on nails, cause you know your nails were child sized and definitely not big enough to do fancy flowers and shit.
Impulse – Hands up who had the Spice Girls version- blates the same scent that Posh wore. I mean look how enthralled she looks to be promoting it.
No Tears Shampoo- which your Mum got to try and make hair washing a bit more pleasant, however I’ll tell you now it did cause bloody tears.
Glue in Coloured hair streaks- cause chunky red and blue strands in your hair were so fetch. They accessorised any non school uniform outfit, and who cared if the glue stayed in your hair for years after?
Lip smackers- so pretty, so moisturising for those lips that you never kissed anyone but your own arm/fave poster of a boy band member. COME ON WE ALL KISSED POSTERS AT ONE TIME.
Lancome Juicy Tubes- You bought these in duty free and felt the sassiest girl around with them. So chic.
Hair Crimpers- SO MUCH VOLUME.
Tooth Gems- Someone tell me why these were a good idea?? But seriously, thought I was Britney Spears whenever I had a tooth gem. Whenever they fell out, or I swallowed one, it was a very sad day indeed.
And of course you got all your beauty tips from magazines like this…
Told you that the late 90’s/early 00’s was a cool and fashionable time 😉
What’s your favourite beauty memory growing up? I love hearing about beauty trends we were all obsessed with.
