Beauty, make up, NYX Cosmetics, NYX, NYX Matte Lip Cream, Feel Unique, Drugstore,

NYX make up is finally easily available in the UK… hallelujah! Okay well as some smarty pants told me on Instagram, NYX has been in the UK for a while. It’s been on Very and Next, but now we have it on Boots and Feel Unique! I am hoping that it’ll launch in store in Boots soon, but for now having it all online makes me pretty happy.

NYX is a budget American make up brand, it has a cult following, and I was always intrigued by the brand, and always wanted to try their stuff. So as soon as it landed on Feel Unique, I made a sneaky order, and well I thought I’d let you know some of my thoughts so far.

Soft Matte Lip Cream: These were top of my wish list to try. I have heard so much about these matte lip creams and they’re so cheap! I have three in my collection so far, Copenhagen a deep wine red, Stockholm, and Abu Dhabi which are very similar nude colours. They are rosy toned browns which dare I say are very Kylie Jenner esq. I remember seeing her make up artist say he used Cairo on her, but looking at swatches made me think the shade was too pale, so I settled for these two colours instead. The creams go on shiny at first but dry to a matte finish. They aren’t the longest lasting lip colours but they are very easy to apply and pigmented. I would definitely grab a couple as I am a little obsessed with them.

Bit of a dodgy swatch sorry (!) L-R Retractable Lip Liner, Jumbo eye pencil in Cashmere, Copenhagen NYX Matte Lip Cream, Stockholm & Abu Dhabi.

Dark Circle Corrector: This is a peach coloured corrector which aims to cover dark circles, by neturalising the dark tones in dark under eye circles. The salmon tones help to neutralise the dark shadows, and I have to say, it does work. I find that my eyes look lighter, and it’s easier to brighten my under eye area when using this product. Recently, I have been looking pretty tired but this has really helped to make me look more awake and a little less like a zombie. You do need to powder to set it though, but seriously a good little buy.

Full Coverage Concealer: This is what I bought to help with dark circles, I bought this before the dark circle corrector, but now I realise that the DCC is much better for what I wanted. I find this little pot is quite good for concealing spots and marks on your skin, I’m just not sure if I love this concealer if you get what I mean? Basically, it doesn’t knock my socks off, but it could be worse. Which is basically the most sitting on the fence review I think you could give a concealer.

Jumbo Eye Pencil: Cashmere: I bought this from CVS in America as I’d heard a lot of good things about these pencils. I am a big fan of gold eyeshadow, and thought this colour looked so pretty. I find that the pencil needs a little warming up in your fingers but goes on the eyelids as a buttery rich cream. I tend to dab it in with my finger as I feel a brush would take away all the product. I don’t find this the most amazingly pigmented pencil, but I don’t know if this is just the shade that I have. I do find this is great though for using for highlighting the brow bone, so tend to prefer it for that instead.

Retractable Lip Liner: Natural: This was again another American purchase, but I’m a big fan on this lipliner. I’m not even joking when I say it stays on your lips all day. It survived getting the tube, drinking, eating, and 10 hours of wear and still remained pretty much intact. The retractable nib makes it easy to line your lips and give them a bit more shape and definition. I am a big fan and it’s definitely coming a close second my fave lip liner from Rimmel (East End Snob)

So these are my thoughts so far, I definitely want to add more to my NYX collection, have you got anything? If so, let me know in the comments 🙂
