I have been meaning to do more outfit/style posts on my blog recently, but can someone else agree with me how hard it is to take good outfit shots? First of all you need a willing photographer (hopefully someone who knows your best angles) but Henry bless him, he does try but I can tell that he gets frustrated when I’m like ‘no take some more.’ Then you have to make sure that the photo is okay – checking for double chins, flies undone, crazy hair, etc…. it’s a tough job. How do fashion bloggers do it?
Anyway, I am hoping to up my game with style posts soon, I have a photographer friend who I am hoping will help me out some pictures and I might try and bribe Henry with chocolate or something haha.
Anyway, we’re halfway through July (Gordon Bennet how did that happen) and summer has been pretty non existent. As I write this, I am looking out to the garden which is filled with sunshine which is making me a little happier and hopeful summer is on the way (finally.)
I thought that I would show some of my fave summery outfits from this year so far, nothing groundbreaking but thought it might be good to post about something a little different! Let me know what kind of style posts you’d perhaps like to see on here as any suggestions would be much appreciated 🙂
Let’s start with the denim skirt that I have barely taken off this summer. Two unexpected facts; 1. I bought this in February and 2. I bought this from the Teen section at New Look. Yes really. I actually like the teen section, as the 13/14 year old size is actually a 8-10, the clothes are usually cheaper too. Yes there is the risk you will end up dressed the same as a 12 year old but with pieces like this skirt, no one would ever know.
This is so comfortable and I knew as soon as I saw it , I had to get it. It’s so easy to throw on with a t-shirt and pumps and voila you are ready to go.
Next we have my other summer obsession; floral dresses. Yes that’s right, my wardrobe is taking a slightly girly turn again. But I love a floral dress cause it’s so easy to just throw on. I’ve been liking this Mango one which is a little different to the normal things I’d wear. I loved the colour and I felt like it was a bit ‘Coachella’ yes it’s July and I still want to be at Coachella. I tend to wear it with sandals or ankle boots and my leather jacket because come on it’s the UK.
I also got this Motel dress recently, I wanted to wear it on my birthday but then it rained all day so that was a no go. But I managed to wear it the night before so that was good. I love the shape of these Motel dresses and the fact you can pull them in at the waist. is perfect if you’re quite petite. I am a big fan of this style and I can see I’ll get a lot of wear out of this dress.
Finally, a less summery outfit but hey I do live in the UK. I wanted to give a shout out to this bardot top from New Look which I got for £7.99. Yes that’s right- £7.99. I have worn it so much and I have bought it in white too now as it’s so easy and comfortable to wear. I wore this all black outfit (hmm summery) the other weekend and here is a nice classy toilet picture. Don’t say I don’t treat you to luxurious photos.
I have loads of ideas for blog photos so I just need to get my act together and take them haha I also have a really cool lookbook video idea but again need to make it happen! But please let me know what kind of style posts you’d like to see!
Anyway, I’m going to go now, grab some lunch and make the most of this sunshine as knowing my luck it will be back to grey skies and having the heating on tomorrow!
