Trying Out Five Not So Ghoulish Treats From Lush

Beauty, Lush, Lush Halloween 2016, Lush Cosmetics, Halloween,

I don’t want to sound like one of those Twitter accounts that makes fun of ‘basic white girls’ but seriously how is Halloween next week? I’m genuinely perplexed where the past few weeks have gone, one minute it was August and now it’s Halloween. I just can’t process this. Anyways, a few weeks ago, back when Halloween seemed miles away, a box of Lush Halloween goodies arrived. I was so excited by them but kinda put them to the back of my samples box, ‘it’s too early for Halloween blog posts!’ I thought to myself, but then I suddenly realised we have just a few short days before the 31st so I thought I’d better get my skates on and get this post up before it’s too late!

I always love Lush’s Halloween and Christmas collections, as soon as September rolls around, I get excited about these ranges launching. I mean who doesn’t get excited at the prospect of having the Sparkly Pumpkin and Candy Mountain back in their life?

This Halloween, I have a few products to show you, but you better be quick as obviously Halloween is on Monday so I’m not sure if they’ll be sticking around for too long afterwards. Sadly I didn’t have time to pick up a Sparkly Pumpkin this year, (if Lush want to open up in Shrewsbury, I would be extremely grateful.) So first of all, we have Monsters’ Ball– a huge bath bomb which is citrus-y scented thanks to lime oil but also moisturising for your skin thanks to cocoa butter. I love the design of the monster, and although I haven’t used it, from watching demo’s online, it looks like that bad boy will make a great Instagram photo ( I mean that’s what bath bombs are really for right?)

Goth Fairy is an incredibly cute shimmer bar, it’s like a glittery massage bar infused with oils such as almond and bergamot. It gives your skin a pearly glow, with hints of purple, gold and green. It’s very creamy and moisturising but although I love the gimmick of this, I don’t know how often I’d use it?

Boo – is another very cute bath melt, it reminds me of Caspar the friendly ghost. This is quite a small bath melt so I think you’d struggle to use it more than two times, in fact I think you need to use the whole bar to get the full effect. You hold this under running water and it melts in to your bath, it’s incredibly good for keeping your skin silky and smooth thanks to ingredients such as cocoa butter.

Next up is Fireside, a soap which is sweet and spicy at the same time. With vanilla absolute, coconut oil and clove bud oil, it’s the perfect scent for this time of year. It also lathers up really nicely too, I’m not too keen on bar soaps normally, but I like this one and think it’s perfect for Autumn. It also makes your hands feel really soft too! Finally, I have been trying out is the Lord Of Misrule Shower Cream, which I hated the smell of last year. However this year, I have been loving. The green colour does kinda put me off a little but it smells amazing, it reminds me of the typical Lush smell, but it has black pepper oil and vanilla absolute in, making it sweet and spicy again. It lathers up really well and a little goes a long way, I’ve been really enjoying using it in the shower every day. Also it leaves the bathroom smelling so nice, usually I’ll go into the bathroom a little while later and can still smell it so I like that!

I think that this weekend, I will have a little Halloween pamper as we don’t have any real Halloween plans as our kitchen probably won’t be finished till late next week. Also I’ve still not watched Hocus Pocus this year, so I may have to have a leisurely bath and watch it!

What are your plans for this Halloween weekend?

* These are all PR samples but as always my opinion is 100% honest
