My Festive Beauty Favourites

Beauty, Christmas, Blogmas, Make up, Make Up Bag Favourites, Glitter, Drugstore,

If you had to ask me what time of year is my favourite time for make up, I would say Christmas without even thinking. Let me tell you why, cause you know this is very important. Basically I love Christmas because it’s the one time of the year where you can wear as much glitter as you want and no one can say a word. No one can mutter ‘eh are you off to a disco?’ in fact, in December, glitter is as normal as wearing jeans. And who doesn’t love wearing judge free glitter?

So I thought I’d share some of my favourite Christmas-y make up items, perfect for parties, festivities and well whatever else you get up to at Christmas. So let’s get on with it shall we?

So let’s start with a bronzer that has been helping me to warm up my complexion this winter. I can never seem to get my foundation colours right at the moment and because I fake tan, it can mean that foundation can be a bit of a pain to match. So I’ve been using The Body Shop’s Honey Bronzing Drops which help to warm up my foundation and also give my skin a bit of a sun kissed glow. Which is very hard to achieve in the winter! I’ve been using these so much and they’ve meant that I only need to wear one foundation as this will just make it darker when I’ve fake tanned, so they have been a must have this Winter for me.

Next up is highlighter, now I am a highlighter fiend every day of the year, but I do tend to go a little more OTT during the Christmas time. Because if you can’t go OTT with your highlighter at Christmas, then when can you? I’ve been loving Barry M’s Strobe Cream illuminator which is perfect for adding a dewy glow to my skin, then for powder highlighter, I have been all over Becca’s Champagne Pop highlighter. I genuinely think this is my favourite highlighter EVER and this is my second one and I am still obsessed with it.

Like I said before, Christmas is all about the glitter so I had to include two of my new loves. I’ve been eyeing up these glitter eye products for a while after seeing them on Instagram, but with Christmas coming up, I had to treat myself. I bought a gold and a bronze glitter which I thought would be perfect for a Christmas party look. I tend to add these on top of a smokey eye as they just add another dimension, I got the pressed glitter so I didn’t need to faff around with glue or anything like that. But they definitely make my make up magpie heart happy!

I won’t go to a party without my false lashes, and recently I found how out just how good the Primark lashes are and they’re all £1 each. AMAZING! I really love the Full Look and Sultry lashes which remind me of lashes from Ardell but for a fraction of the price!

Christmas is also the perfect time for a red lip, and although I try to get on board with a red lip, I do also like a berry lip now and then. The Primark Velvet Matte Crayons aren’t too dis similar to the Nars Velvet Matte Pencils (hmm not just the name which is similar!) But this one is called Shameless and is a deep wine colour which is perfect for parties and what not. I am obsessed though with these, though I definitely feel like Candice from GBBO’s doppelganger when I wear it haha.

Finally, I will finish on my favourite glittery nail polish right now, essie Top Of The Rock is perfect for adding a little sparkle to your nails, and I have been wearing it with a baby pink nail (tutorial to come!) and I can’t see myself stopping anytime soon!

So they are my favourite festive beauty picks right now, what’s your top Christmas-y make up products?
