One of my favourite things in the house is our bar cart, although someone on my Instagram a few months ago said ‘is there any youtuber without a light box and bar cart in their house?’ And to be honest, the answer is ‘probably not, no.’ Anyways, our bar cart does have quite a special meaning to us, as it was Henry’s Nan’s, although I can confirm that she didn’t use it for booze like I do, instead she used it for a much classier afternoon tea. I love it though, and love decorating it.
With our heatwave a couple of weeks ago, it got me in the summer mood. I had a change of the alcohol and accessories that I have on the cart and gave it a Summer update. Today I thought I’d share what I’ve added and a few ways how perhaps you yourself can give your bar cart a summery look.
First of all, I changed up the alcohol that was on the cart, I’ve gone for bottles that are perfect for creating cocktails; so we’ve got some vodka, white rum, prosecco and some AMAZING yes it deserved capitals, pink tequila. It’s called Mejor Pink Tequila and it’s from 31 Dover and I can’t wait to try it in some margaritas. I’ve got white rum by Plantation so we can make mojitos and daiquiris, and I’m really excited to have a play around and try some different things. Keep your eyes peeled for some cocktail posts soon! I do have my trusty gold Prosecco from Bottega, as well as a couple of mini pink champagnes which are featuring in a post veryyyy soon! I love the gold, black and pink colour theme, and can’t wait to start experimenting.
Accessory wise, I have kept to the pink and gold theme, I bought some new bright straws from eBay, and some funky flamingo drinks stirrers from Ginger & Ray, I think they’ve added a much needed splash of colour. I’ve also got two dinky pineapple shot glasses, yes they are shot glasses, how cute, and thought they were perfect for a Summer look. On the middle shelf I have my £5 pineapple from Primark, as well as some more straws and a H&M candle.
I also have a cocktail shaker, well I thought if I’m going to be making cocktails, I’ll need a shaker. It’s copper though, so it’s on trend and still a blogger cliche. Glass wise, I have some gold glasses from H&M home and Asda, which just finish off the cart and of course handy for when you want a drink. Finally, I have a vase of peonies on the cart, which just adds a little girly touch (sorry Henry) I mean peonies make everything look better right? And I love how they look and tie in all the pink. These beauties are from Appleyard London, and they lasted pretty much 10 days before they started to wilt! I thought that was pretty good, and they lasted a lot longer than I was expecting. The only thing is, I’m already missing them, so I’ll have to replenish them asap!
I’ve also updated my lightbox, and I’m really happy with how the area is looking. Perfect for summer parties, and summer evenings, like I said, I can’t wait to start mixing up some cocktails, and let me know if you have any fave cocktail recipes!
But yeah just a little post from me today, hope you have liked seeing how I style my bar cart, even thought it’s a total pinterest cliché, I’m still obsessed. Do you have your own bar cart? How do you style it?
Hope you’re all having a great day, and I’ll see you soon!
