The 5 Makeup Products I’m Using Every Day I AD

I’ve not written a makeup blog post in a while, so today I thought I’d sit down and chat about some of my faves, and what I’ve wearing on my face recently.

As you may know if you’ve been reading my blog for a while now, I am a big fan of a smokey eye, it’s definitely my go-to look, even during the Spring/Summer months.

I love a good neutral eye palette, (they are definitely my weakness) and I’ve found a new palette which I absolutely love (and think you will too!)

So let’s get stuck in, here are five of my fave makeup must haves right now:

Bare Minerals Hydrating Stick Foundation: So, I was gifted these the other week and I was SO excited to try them. It’s the first water-based liquid foundation in stick form, and let me tell you- it’s really good. It has a SPF of 25, and is really buildable coverage wise. I tend to put some on, buff it in and then go back in and re apply in places that need a little extra coverage. It’s so dewy, and glowy and makes your skin look so flawless. I’m a big fan and it’s definitely my base of choice right now. I was worried it might be quite drying as that’s what I’ve found from stick foundations before, but I needn’t have worried as this is so hydrating! Perfect for warmer months cause it’s nice and light.

Now let’s chat about my eye palette of choice – the NYX Professional Makeup Ultimate Shadow Palette (Warm Neutrals) is pretty much perfect for anyone thanks to its 16 versatile shades. With matte shades, shimmer shades and a spectrum of colours from light champagne to taupe and finally the dark browns, meaning you can create a whole host of looks with one palette. For me though, I’m all about the bronze smokey eye, I love using a mixture of the middle row colours for my base, then I go in with the slightly shimmery dark brown (bottom left) in my crease and along my lash line, before finishing off with gold shimmer on my lids and smoking some of the dark brown along my lower lash line too. The champagne colour is perfect for highlighting your brow bone and inner eye corner, it’s so glowy!  But I love this palette, the colours are really pigmented and they blend so nicely. The eyeshadows are also really soft on the eyelid if that makes sense, but basically, my eyelids have been super irritated thanks to hay fever so it’s been nice to wear eyeshadow without them being irritated! This palette is also a great size which will be perfect as I have a few trips coming up this next month!

Next, I like to line my upper lash line with liquid liner, I don’t know what it is but I do feel better with a bit of liquid liner on. I’ve been using the NYX Professional Makeup Epic Ink Eyeliner in Black. This pen type liner which is my fave type of eyeliner btw, is perfect for drawing along the lash line as well as doing flicks too. Though I’m not the best at those! This liner is SO pigmented, I hate nothing more than a watery dull black liner but this is not like that at all. It’s really pigmented and stays around all day too, it’s even waterproof (I’ve tried it both in the gym and watching an emotional episode of Jane The Virgin and it survived both!) Everyone needs a good black liner in their makeup bag and this is up there as one of the best ones I’ve used and it’s so affordable too!

Makeup flatlay, Makeup products, NYX Professional Makeup, Boots, beauty flatlayI like to finish my eyes with the NYX Worth The Hype mascara in black, although I do wear lash extensions most of the time (I feel like a potato without them haha) I do always like a good mascara for my bottom lashes. I always feel naked if I don’t have any mascara on them and feel like it helps to open up your eyes and make your eyeshadow look more finished. It has a nice big fluffy brush which is tapered at the end (meaning it will catch even the teeniest of lashes- perfect for that lower lash line!) and really helps to separate and lengthen those lower lashes. I can imagine this would also work a treat on your upper lashes too- I’m excited to try it once my lash extensions have fallen out! This just finishes off my eye look, and it’s been the mascara I’ve been turning to the most recently.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecter Pressed Highlight: Royal Glow:  A new addition to my highlight collection, and you guys all know how much I love my highlighter! Becca’s Champagne Pop will probably always be my absolute fave highlight, but I’m really enjoying Royal Glow at the moment. A warm golden glow which definitely gives you a glow good enough for a Princess. The formula is really buttery and gives the perfect amount of glow, giving you that radiant ‘I look like an angel look’ rather than the ‘I look like a tinman look’ which some highlighters leave you looking like. I pop this on my cheekbones and nose to give me a bit of a glow.

So these are the makeup items I am reaching for on a daily basis at the moment. I’m really enjoying using some more NYX Professional Makeup products as they are so good and such good value too which you can buy at Boots. Also did you know that NYX is cruelty free too?
